UPDATE: Monday, 7/18/2011
Cyclone's boom snapped in two on Sunday night during a severe storm, just north of Sleeping Bear Bay in Michigan. The crew pulled into the harbor in Leland, MI early Monday morning. Another sailboat in the harbor had lost its mast in the same storm. More details forthcoming.

Chicago to Mackinac 2011

Once again Team Cyclone sailboat is doing the Chicago to Mackinac race. This year is the 103rd running and this will be Team Cyclone's 4th race. The race starts on Saturday July 16th. Once again there will be tracking transponders on the boats so you can track our progress live. To access the tracking go to the following page:

New this year, the nut jobs at SailingAnarchy.com will be broadcasting the start live over the internet. So if you happen to be near a computer on Saturday, Team Cyclone will be starting at 12:10PM that means we will be "in the starting box" just after 12:00 Noon. We will also try and post on Facebook in the Cyclone J92 group. This one is data access dependent as cell phone coverage gets spotty once we get a few miles from shore, if we have access we will try and post some stuff and you can cheer us on there.
